A typical charter last 5 - 7 hours, depending upon the water conditions, catch, and your personal preferences. I don't end the trip after you've caught your limit; you are free to catch-and-release after that.
No deposit is required but please confirm the day before your scheduled trip. You may make payment in cash or by credit card on the day of the charter. No prepayment is required.
I will furnish all bait and gear, rods and reels, tackle, bottled water, cooler and ice for your catch, and everything you need for a successful day's fishing. My Tracker Grizzly boat is equipped with the latest electronic and fishfinding equipment, including Humminbird Mega-imaging which allows you to actually see the fish as they approach and strike your lure/bait!!! Also equipped with a trolling motor and electronic anchor to keep you right over the fish!!
I suggest you bring a camera to record all the fishing action but I will also take photos/videos as my other boat responsibilities and activities permit.
The lakes I fish are beautiful and have large expanses of undeveloped shoreline - great places to capture some great wildlife photos in a natural setting!!!
Although Lake Chickamauga has earned the reputation one of the nation's top bass locations, it is not generally recognized that it is one of the most productive crappie fisheries as well. My specialty is catching trophy crappies using a variety of techniques including trolling with crankbaits. The latter technique, in particular, tends to disproportionately select for the larger 12 - 16 inch fish. Crappies contain high concentrations of protein and healthy fats and are considered to be some of the best-eating freshwater fish so feel free to catch and keep your catch!!
Normally, during a day of crappie fishing we are likely to land other species, most
bass
( largemouth, spotted, smallmouth, and white) , drum, and catfish. Or an occasional trout (brown or rainbow), walleye, or musky in the case of Parksville Lake trips.
In addition to the abovementioned species, I seasonally run charters for striped bass in some of the nearby lakes and rivers. These fish are exciting to catch and grow to large sizes!! Also, they make excellent table fare.
TN fishing licenses can be obtained online at https://www.tn.gov/twra/license-sales/fishing-licenses.html
GA fishing licenses can be obtained online at https://georgiawildlife.com/licenses-permits-passes
Of course, you are required to have a current state fishing license before boarding. In addition, please bring sun protection*, comfortable season-appropriate clothing, camera, any food-drinks you will need during the charter, and a cooler with ice to take your catch home.
Much of the time I employ a longline trolling or spider-rigging technique which is extremely user-friendly. It's a perfect opportunity for inexperienced anglers and children (minimum age 12 ) to catch lots of fish - as well as a good way to fill your freezer with tasty and healthy crappie fillets! No previous fishing experience is necessary!!
