Smith Fishing Adventures offers fishing charters in the beautiful Tennessee Valley and surrounding areas. Capt. Greg's specialty is crappie fishing Lake Chickamauga, one of the top crappie lakes in Tennessee. He has developed techniques which are successful year-round, not only during spring spawning periods. Additionally, his method selectively targets larger fish (slabs) and 12-16 inch fish are the rule rather than exception. Other species commonly taken include bass, catfish, and drum. You will be introduced to a wide variety of fishing techniques including spider-rigging, trolling, jigging, and casting.
USCG-licensed Capt. Greg has studied and fished Earth's lakes, rivers, and oceans for most of his life. In addition to being an avid fisherman, he holds a PhD in Biology and has published numerous scientific papers on a variety of fishery topics. Moreover, he has lived and fished in Florida, Panama, Bahrain, Hawaii, Wisconsin, South Dakota and, most recently, Tennessee. He has won numerous fishing and diving tournaments through the years and you can view a quick video of his fishing history here.

Temperatures might be chilly, but the crappie spider-rig bite is hot this time of year. No prior fishing experience is needed for this adventure; in fact, this is a great trip for first time anglers. Also, you are invited to keep your catch. These crappies are tasty and nutritious.
